29Rooms is a multi-room immersive experience where artists, brands and nonprofits partner to create an interactive space of inspiration & self-reflection. Modal provided the Lighting Design for 29Rooms in NYC. In addition to cohesively lighting the space as a whole, we navigated through the complexities of lighting 29 different rooms, each unique in its creative concepts and logistical requirements.
In addition to working with Refinery29’s own creative and production teams, Modal vetted and hired over 40 people over a 4-week period, designing, building and powering a cohesive lighting environment.
29Rooms Los Angeles, San Francisco and Chicago: Drawing on our success with 29Rooms in NYC, Modal was brought in for subsequent 29Rooms activations, working with local vendors to execute on our design as the experience toured around the country.
